The Rocksalt Restaurant Group that operates Rocksalt, The Wife of Bath, The Duke William in Ickham, The Five Bells in Brabourne, The Woolpack in Warehorne, The Radnor Arms in Folkestone and soon to be opening a new fish restaurant on the harbour at Folkestone is looking for a Sous Chef to join the team at the multi award winning Rocksalt. Our flagship restaurant sits at the forefront of an ever growing portfolio of hospitality businesses. This allows for incredible career progression within the company, something we actively champion with all our employees. This is an incredibly diverse and exciting role for the right individual. We are ideally looking for someone with at least 2 years Sous Chef experience in a fast paced fine dining kitchen. You will cover in the absence of the Head Chef, delivering excellent quality food into the restaurant.

The award winning restaurant rocksalt and the fabulous fish and chip restaurant the smokehouse are both in folkestone. there are also four boutique “bolt hole” en-suite rooms to accompany them. A few miles away in the heart of Ickham, near Canterbury, we have the quintessential food-led british pub called The Duke William, which also has four newly refurbished en-suite rooms. Finally, The Wife of Bath restaurant in Wye, near Ashford; newly opened and serving Northern Spanish inspired dishes, the restaurant also has five beautifully refurbished en-suite rooms.
About the role
- You must be able to help lead the team
- You need to be proactive in developing the rest of the kitchen team, inspiring them to progress as chefs within the industry.
You must have a proven track record in delivering the highest quality dishes in a busy and pressured environment. You must take responsibility, along with the other senior members of the kitchen team, for making sure every dish that leaves the kitchen is of the highest standard. You will help to manage the ordering and controlling of stock whilst maintaining the highest health and safety practices throughout the kitchen. You must have gained experience within high volume kitchens as a Sous Chef.
