Sous Chef


Rocksalt serves the best locally sourced produce from along the Kent Coast and surrounding Countryside with a strong leaning towards Fish and Seafood, holding 2 AA Rosette's since its opening in 2011. The restaurant itself sits cantilevered over Folkestone harbour with stunning panoramic views out over the English Channel. The Restaurant also boasts a stunning bar area serving its own separate bar menu plus 4 beautifully restored guest rooms. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team under the management of Executive Chef Marcin Szelag and General Manager Leon Foissy, who both possess a wealth of experience gained from some of London and The South East's finest dining destinations.

  • You need to be proactive in developing the rest of the kitchen team, inspiring them to progress as chefs within the industry.


Salary £28,000-£30,000 per annum plus tronc, joining and retention bonuses, pension and staff discounts

About You

You must have a proven track record in delivering the highest quality dishes in a busy and pressured environment. You must take responsibility, along with the other senior members of the kitchen team, for making sure every dish that leaves the kitchen is of the highest standard. You will help to manage the ordering and controlling of stock whilst maintaining the highest health and safety practices throughout the kitchen. You must have gained experience within high volume kitchens as a Sous Chef.
